Our Farm

1/5 of an acre in Bothell, WA

We grow our flowers, produce, starts and family on just shy of 1/5 of an acre in suburban Bothell, Washington (about 30 minutes north of Seattle). In 2022 we expanded to also using portions of friends' yards and gardens!  These areas are located in Snohomish and Bothell.

Our family of five lives on our suburban plot along with our ever-changing number of rabbits (fertilizer providers!), dog, and our three cats (pest control!).

Our micro farm is committed to sourcing non-GMO seeds, sourcing non-treated vegetable & herb seeds, using OMRI or NOP compliant potting soils and other inputs, and using OMRI or certified organic sprays to combat pests and disease as a last resort only.  We do our best to use cultural practices to control pests, implement IPM (integrated pest management) and use crop rotation as much as possible.

Our Story

Dill & Dahlia is the result of a lifetime of being involved in agriculture.  I grew up in rural unincorporated Snohomish County with a large garden, small orchard and lots of animals.  I began working for a family farm in 1999 and continued working there, off and on, until 2010 when I became their first full-time, year round employee.  It was there that I cultivated a love for growing flowers and refined my own vegetable growing skills.  In 2019 I left the farm to focus on taking care of our family.

I quickly realized that our garden and yard produced more flowers and veggies than our family of 5 could consume!  The idea of having our own farm stand has always been at the back on my mind.  With so much worry, anxiety and stress surrounding the spring of 2020 it seemed like the perfect time to start a free farm stand to try to bring a little joy and cheer to our community.

In addition to continuing our free farm stand, we have grown to include plant start & dahlia tuber sales along with a spring bouquet share and a dahlia bouquet share. In 2022 we added workshops to our offerings! Friends have asked that I share my gardening to-do list and walk along them in their gardening endeavors.  Follow along on our blog "Pathways" for our gardening & farming journey!

In 2021 & 2022 Stacy was a Growing Kindness Project Ambassador and our little urban farm gave away 450 bouquets of flowers! If you haven't heard of the Growing Kindness Project, check it out at www.growingkindnessproject.org.
